Rascal Flatts perform National Anthem at Nashville Predators 2018 playoff game
Rascal Flatts were on hand to perform at the Nashville Predators' first playoff game of 2018 Thursday night. The country trio kicked off the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with their unique take on the national anthem.
Gary LeVox began the song alone, his familiar vocals soaring through Bridgestone Arena before Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus chimed in on harmony, as the audience cheered in approval. While the special musical guests are usually kept a secret at the playoff games, Joe Don hinted that his band would take the ice ahead of Thursday night's game.
"Thanks #preds we are honored you invited us!" he shared on Instagram alongside an animation of himself decked out in Preds gear.
The Predators went on to beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2. Last year's NHL Predators playoff games included surprise performances by Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Trisha Yearwood and Lady Antebellum, among others.
