Shaking Hands with a Hero

Army veteran Brendan Marrocco’s armored vehicle was bombed in Iraq in 2009. The solider lost all four of his limbs in the blast, becoming the first U.S. serviceman to survive a quadruple amputation. TV station WEHT reports that six weeks ago, doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital performed a double-arm transplant on Marrocco. A fan tweeted the Brendan’s remarkable story to Shelton on Tuesday and Blake responded saying, “Wow.. Speechless. I will make this happen!!” Shelton then sent a message directly to Marrocco, saying, “Hey Brendan…. I can’t WAIT to shake the hand of an American Hero/Stud… You my brother.” To which the soldier then replied, “Holy mother of God!! I can’t wait. I’m a huge fan and really looking forward to it. Thank you.”
