Taysom Hill

Player Profile

Taysom Hill

Hometown Hero Taysom Hill was a blisteringly good High School quarterback, leading Highland High School to its first state title since 2002. While at Highland, Taysom set many records for his incredible offensive capabilities. He completed 166 of 258 passes (64.3 percent) and threw for 2,269 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, and also rushed for 1,491 yards and 24 TDs, averaging 10.2 yards per carry and 124.3 rushing yards per game.

At BYU, Taysom has had an incredible freshman and sophomore year, ranking closely with Steve Young, Jim McMahon and Ty Detmer for total offensive yards. His running game has dominated the field in many games. His speed is uncanny for a quarterback, and he has enough physical presence to surprise even seasoned defenders.

For his Junior year, expect to see his passing game elevated to a new level. He has been working hard on accuracy, and he has strong receivers on his team to frustrate opponents. His knee injury has also healed, and he has even been listed in the top 25 for the Heisman Trophy watch list on heismanpundit.com.
